Mission

The Department of Turkish Language and Literature aims to study and teach the origins and sources of Turkish language and literature in the light of scientific methods and to develop sensitive individuals who have pleasure and sensitivity in other artistic fields in addition to language and literature fields.The aim of the department is to provide students with the qualifications that enable students to conduct research at academic level through questioning, critical, creative directions, quotations and presentations.In the department, New Turkish Literature, Old Turkish Literature, Ottoman Turkish, Turkish Folk Literature and Historical Turkish Shows courses are obligatory.Arabic, Persian, English, Western Literature, Poetry, Criticism and Theater courses are optional.

To be one of the representative centers of Turkish Language and Literature with its academic studies and original works in the field of language and literature.
